What a fabulous night, one of those glorious Berkshire Summer days, not a cloud in the sky, warm enough to wear a sundress and be out in the streets, and why not at the August Downstreet Art opening!! Great shows opened up and down the street, Richard Criddle’s Compendium, Experiment in Inspiration at the Jarvis Rockwell Gallery, the GREAT street painting by Art About Town and of course, our own opening at PRESS, Postal Pinacotheca.
Big thanks goes out to Pam Buchanan, Associate Gallery Manager, Andy Cross Gallery Attendant and Adriana Alexatos, for their energy, enthusiasm and welcoming faces.
Tara O’Brien, the creative genius behind Postal Pinacotheca was able to make it to the opening, as was Karen Arp-Sandel, mail artist extraordinaire who will be leading a DIY mail art workshop at PRESS in a couple of weeks. More info about that in another post!
President of MCLA, Mary Grant stopped by and Andy taught her how to print on the Vandercook! (Go Andy!)
Jason Peabody, 2011 Summer Associate Gallery Manager and fabulous MCLA grad, stopped by to hang out for a bit and hammed it up with Andy.
What a fun evening! And thanks to all of you who came out to support the night. We love seeing you come through our doors and sharing our mission with you! Hope to see you again soon.
Great pics from a stellar evening @ Press and Downstreet ART! Loved being in the mix with you all.So much great energy going around—Shine on! karen
