The PRESS Poetry Series

As per usual, PRESS has been busy while not letting the snow be any reason at all to slow down. Printing and developing new events through out these quickly approaching winter months is how you will find PRESS & Co. spending their time.

Jason has been developing our new series of events called the PRESS Poetry Series. These poetry readings will feature the work of students and faculty from MCLA alike as well as some great poets from the Berkshire and South Vermont areas. The first of many readings to come will happening on Thursday November 10th at 7:30 p.m. and we have a quite the line up of poets in store for you. Our first reading will feature the Poetry of Melanie Mowinski, the proprietress of PRESS herself; Barry Sternlieb, a fine poet who is currently the publisher of Mad River Press and the very gracious gentleman who gave the Vandercook Universal III proof press to Melanie as gift over a year ago; Hannah Fries who is the current Poetry Editor at Orion Magazine; and MCLA’s own Abbot Cutler who has been a Professor of Creative Writing at MCLA for many wonderful years now.

Space will be limited at these readings as they are being held right in the gallery at PRESS located on 105 Main St. in North Adams, so be sure to RSVP with us at letterpress105@gmail.com. Let us know how many seats you want to reserve and the names of those attending with you and we’ll add you to the list!

This is truly going to be a wonderful evening of poetry right on Main Street and seats are going fast so reserve yours today! We will also have our poster done up on our Vandercook for the reading on sale for only Five Dollars (the image to the left). So come down to Main Street and join us on Thursday November 10th at 7:3o for a great poetry reading!
