Where is PRESS? PRESS is now on the MOVE!
In the past year we moved the Vandercook down the road into the newly renovated Bowman Hall on the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts’s campus (MCLA). We replaced the Vandercook’s motor, launched our PRESS on the Move initiative, partnered with students in MCLA Professor Frances Jones-Sneed’s class Women, Race and Society to create our annual calendar and continued to give away monthly mantra cards.
So what now? During the 2016 DownStreet Art summer PRESS on the MOVE will be out at the opening of Melanie Mowinski’s solo exhibition WAYFINDING on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 5-8 pm at MCLA’s Gallery 51 where we will be printing a commemorative coaster. Keep an eye out for us popping up other places, too!
During the fall semester, we will launch our Printer’s Apprenticeship program. Each apprentice will be required to produce two PRESS on the Move events. At these events, apprentices will work with a community partner to design and create a giveaway card in the style of our monthly mantra cards. Interested in being one of those partners? Go to our Contact page and let us know.
Coaster and cards will be available during events only and to our members. Learn more about our membership program here.
