The Berkshire Festival of Women’s Writers Workshop
at PRESS was a hit!
Students with some letterpress experience and students with lots of interest in letterpress but no experience gathered together for six hours of experimentation and fun!
Here is a list of the talented women who came into PRESS to learn and share:
Suzi Banks Baum
The day began with a discussion of the pressure printing processes followed by some sketching/brainstorming where participants were invited to meditate on a word or two or more from the fabulous Hakiucubes.
After sometime, the printing began!
First with pressure and then a bit later, after another lightning fast demo with type! Everyone left with a number of great prints, plus ones to share with the public. They are currently on display at PRESS as part of the Poets in Print exhibit! Please stop by and take a look.
PRESS would like to give a big shout out to Suzi Banks Baum who shared her photos with us! Thank you Suzi! You can check out her blog, Laundry Line Divine here. Or, check out the post she wrote about PRESS here.
Here’s a slideshow of the wonderful pictures Suzi took at the event! Thank you again to all of the women who shared their fantastic energy into this workshop.PRESS will be offering workshops similar to this one in June, July and August. Friend us on Facebook to get invites to these events and more!
