Since our first exhibit, Hartford Prints!, opened on June 23rd people from far and wide have admired the fine work of the nine young Hartford Public High School students. During the Solid Sound Festival weekend we made friends with visitors from Australia, New Zealand, Wales, England, California, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, Maine, and so many places in between.
It is going to be particularly difficult for Jason, our associate gallery manager, to see these wonderful prints come down off the wall since he was born in Hartford. But as one wonderful exhibit comes down another goes right up. On Thursday July, 28th we be holding an opening reception for The EXCHANGE exhibit. Between now and Thursday PRESS & Co. will be hard at work getting the gallery ready and switching out what’s on the walls.
The EXCHANGE features the works of the graduate students from Philadelphia’s University of the Arts MFA program in Book Arts & Printmaking. We’ve had the prints in for about a week now and they are beautiful and all so uniquely crafted! While we have been thumbing through the three themes of Scape 2000, Tongue Twisters, and the Planets Exchange, it has been incredibly evident the amount of passion labor that has gone into the creation of each and every one of these truly astonishing prints.
As this post has been titled, PRESS is facilitating the passing of the torch from one greatly successful exhibit onto the next.
